Job description

The Staff Research Data Scientist for the Search AI Product at Google will be part of the Search Intelligence Data Science team. This role focuses on leveraging data and advanced measurement methodologies to enhance the quality of Google's Search AI products, particularly in the context of Generative AI capabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with developers and product managers to revolutionize the Google Search experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence how billions of users interact with Google Search daily.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 6 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
  • 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 8 years of work experience with a PhD degree.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive cross-functional development with a variety of teams to identify growth and quality opportunities for the product.
  • Drive understanding, evaluation, and development of measurement methodologies for complex Generative AI models.
  • Conduct rigorous analyses of large-scale datasets, applying statistical methods to solve complex problems and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources using relevant tools, ensuring data quality and readiness for analysis.
