Job description
The role is for a research scientist or engineer within KLA's Global Products Group, focusing on metrology and inspection products for semiconductor manufacturing. The team is dedicated to providing high-resolution imaging and classification data to identify defects on wafers. Candidates will work alongside experts in physics, engineering, and data science to solve complex technical challenges. This position emphasizes innovation and collaboration to advance the semiconductor manufacturing process.
Requirements
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials and Metallurgical Engineering.
- Knowledge in instrumentation, signal processing, and optical/electro-optical systems such as electron microscopes is preferred.
- Experience with Vacuum Systems, Electron Optics, and High Voltage for scanning electron microscopes or equivalent is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in machine control and/or scientific data analysis is highly desired.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python for scientific data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Set up experiments and conduct modeling and data analysis.
- Solve complex technical problems related to semiconductor manufacturing.
- Provide timely information on defects and critical locations on wafers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product development.
- Create effective technical presentations to communicate findings.
