Job description

The Principal Software Engineering Manager will lead the Access Management Team at Microsoft Entra, focusing on identity and access governance products. This role involves expanding governance solutions for both human and non-human identities in cloud and hybrid environments. The manager will collaborate with various teams across Microsoft and industry partners to deliver comprehensive identity management solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • 4+ years of people management experience leading software engineering teams.
  • 6+ years of experience designing, building, or operating commercial software applications, cloud services, or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with identity and access management, identity governance, or related security products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers building security, identity, and access management products and services.
  • Set clear priorities and align the team’s engineering roadmap with customer needs, product strategy, and business objectives.
  • Guide the design, development, and delivery of globally distributed, business-critical identity governance services.
  • Influence the technical direction and architecture of solutions that govern human and non-human identities across applications, directories, and resources.
  • Drive engineering excellence across design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Champion security, privacy, reliability, performance, and compliance throughout the product and service lifecycle.
  • Translate long-term product and technical strategy into incremental milestones that deliver measurable customer and business value.
  • Collaborate across Microsoft and with external industry partners to build integrated identity and access governance solutions.
  • Make informed engineering and investment decisions, manage technical risks, and deliver results in complex and ambiguous environments.
