Job description

The Staff Research Data Scientist Manager for Ecosystem Growth at Google will lead a team of data scientists focused on enhancing user experience across Google's ecosystem. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improving user journeys and engagement. The Ecosystem Group aims to connect users with relevant features and content through data-driven insights. The position requires both technical leadership and managerial guidance to drive impactful analysis and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding in Python, R, or SQL, or 6 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
  • 3 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of data scientists that is part of a broader data science organization in Core Experience.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to understand opportunities to improve the connection, sharing, and identity experience for Google users.
  • Support the team in carrying out analysis to identify the best opportunities for improving user journeys across products.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to enhance the organization's capacity for data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide technical direction and managerial guidance to the team of data scientists.
