Job description
The Senior Automation Systems Integration Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of automation software for semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role is part of the Foundry Back-End Automation team, focusing on integrating various factory systems to optimize throughput and improve product quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in semiconductor automation architectures and strong software engineering skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with multiple teams to translate business needs into effective automation solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation, systems integration, or related areas.
- 3+ years' experience with yield management systems (YMS), statistical process control (SPC), and automated yield/SPC workflows.
- Hands-on experience with SEMI communication standards (SECS/GEM, EDA/Interface A, GEM300) is preferred.
- Understanding of factory KPIs (OEE, cycle time, throughput, yield) is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and deploy automation solutions with partner organizations across wafer prep, die prep, and assembly test manufacturing.
- Partner with manufacturing, equipment engineering, IT, process engineering, and quality teams to understand business needs and translate them into automation solutions.
- Maintain and improve software architecture, ensuring scalability, robustness, and maintainability.
- Lead root-cause analysis and system-level debugging for complex integration issues.
- Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and drive best practice adoption across the automation team.
