Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join their Services Group in New York. The role focuses on developing and maintaining enterprise-level applications using Java and microservices architecture. The engineer will work with distributed systems and cloud-native technologies while collaborating with agile teams throughout the software development lifecycle. This position allows for telecommuting up to three days a week.

• Requires a Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Requires one year of experience in the position offered or one year as a Software Developer, React Developer, or a related role.
• Requires one year of experience with Java, Java Spring framework, Angular, Spring Boot, SQL, and SPARQL.
• Requires experience in developing scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Requires knowledge of distributed caching and relational databases such as DB2 and PostgreSQL.
• Requires experience integrating Kafka for middleware messaging and operating in Linux environments.
• Requires applying distributed system design principles and implementing fault tolerance patterns.
• Requires collaboration in Agile teams using DevOps tools and practices.
• Requires building cloud-native applications using Docker containers.
• Requires automating tasks and workflows using Python scripting.
• Requires implementing Knowledge Graphs using Stardog.
• Requires utilizing Grafana and Splunk for observability and monitoring.
• Requires maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Requires designing and developing ETL pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
