Job description
The Software Development Engineer II role focuses on building policy infrastructure and enforcement systems to ensure safe enterprise AI deployment at scale. The team is part of Amazon Quick, a generative AI-powered assistant that enhances employee productivity. The position involves designing and implementing distributed services that manage authorization, compliance, and AI governance. The ideal candidate will tackle challenges related to policy management, configuration orchestration, and admin observability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Build the APIs and services for policy management at scale across complex organizational hierarchies.
- Design control-plane workflows that translate admin intent into policy artifacts for enforcement services.
- Build telemetry and analytics pipelines for monitoring AI usage across the organization.
- Collaborate with authorization, identity, and guardrails teams to ensure seamless governance.
