Job description
The Engineering Manager for AI/ML Training Infra at Google will lead a high-performing team of Software Engineers focused on designing, implementing, and launching critical scheduling features for training and inference across Alphabet. This role involves managing engineers across multiple teams and locations while overseeing large-scale projects. The team is dedicated to redefining AI and infrastructure capabilities, delivering efficient and reliable solutions. The manager will also shape the technical direction for next-generation scheduling infrastructure, balancing long-term goals with immediate business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure.
- 5 years of experience with speech/audio technology, reinforcement learning, or another ML specialization.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
- Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
- Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of multiple teams.
- Design, guide, and vet systems designs within the broader area.
- Lead the design and implementation of solutions in specialized ML areas.
- Optimize ML infrastructure and guide the development of model optimization and data processing strategies.
