Job description

The Senior Software Engineer, Backend for Google Photos will focus on developing backend business generation projects that enhance user experiences and drive growth for the Photos App. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions and ensuring the overall health of backend systems. The team is dedicated to optimizing user storage journeys and integrating Google Photos with Google One. Engineers in this role will work on critical projects that impact a product with 1.4 billion monthly active users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and lead the development of backend business generation projects.
  • Scope complex technical problems and ensure the overall health of backend systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and engineering leads to define requirements.
  • Build features that advance the Storage business generation mission.
