The Enterprise Architect role at Morgan Stanley focuses on driving strategic architectural vision and alignment across key stakeholders within the Institutional Securities Technology team. This position involves defining and governing architecture standards, principles, and best practices for divisional adoption. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile, Cloud, and DevOps, and will work to modernize and optimize technology solutions. The role requires collaboration with various engineering and product strategy leaders to ensure alignment with business goals.

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing technology solutions
• Experience designing and building cloud-native applications with familiarity in cloud services such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS
• Good knowledge of Generative Artificial Intelligence capabilities
• Experience with enterprise data management technologies including relational databases and NoSQL platforms
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven ability to influence software architecture designs
• Understanding of architectural design patterns such as Event Driven Architecture and Microservices

• Create target state vision and business architecture strategies while facilitating execution of IT delivery roadmap in line with business goals
• Lead or influence cross-domain solution architectures, articulating impacts on applications, data, and technology
• Identify opportunities for modernization, convergence, and optimization of the current portfolio
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, platform architects, and product strategy leaders to develop domain roadmaps
• Stay current with trends and innovations in Finance and IT, recommending appropriate developments
• Define and promote a risk control culture while delivering architectural and technological vision
• Monitor external regulations and internal policies impacting Architecture Practices
• Manage engagement with internal partners such as Cloud, DevOps, and Architecture teams
• Resolve issues or blockers, coordinating directly with other teams or through Scrum-of-Scrum ceremonies
• Act as project auditor to ensure conformance to architecture guardrails and policies
• Provide architectural leadership in resolving inter-program issues and fostering convergence opportunities
