The Data Center Global Operations: Central Operations Install Team at AWS is seeking a skilled systems engineer to enhance install workflows and address systemic issues in AWS data centers. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure safe, secure, and highly available operations for customers. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will focus on capacity recovery and improving global workflows. The position offers an inclusive culture that values innovative ideas and teamwork.

• 4+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
• Experience working with Linux.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, or Shell.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS.
• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.

• Develop solutions to recover capacity for customers.
• Collaborate with support and systems engineers to implement upstream fixes for capacity recovery.
• Own and improve global directed workflows for local teams to hand off capacity.
• Deep dive into defects throughout the capacity installation process and develop solutions to mitigate them.
• Contribute to data analytics to support operational roles.
• Evaluate data and trending patterns to identify defects across product life cycles.
