Job description
The Video Applications team at Apple is seeking a senior software engineer to develop best-in-class video products like Final Cut Pro and iMovie. This role involves designing and implementing high-quality features that impact millions of creative professionals. The engineer will tackle complex challenges using cutting-edge technologies on both iOS and macOS. Collaboration with other engineers is essential to push the boundaries of professional video editing.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit
- Strong understanding of software engineering and computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design principles, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience working on large, cross-functional, multi-team projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a highly collaborative environment
- GENUINE PASSION FOR PROFESSIONAL CREATIVE TOOLS AND WORKFLOWS
- Familiarity with video editing, media processing, or graphics programming
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality features for video editing applications
- Collaborate closely with engineers across the Video Apps teams
- Own a framework, SDK, or shared technical component end to end, including API design and implementation
- Break down large features into practical, implementable solutions
- Drive initiatives to completion as a self-directed problem solver
- Create and refine APIs for adoption by other teams and developers
