AMD is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff to join its Data Center Platform Engineering Group, focusing on system design support, rack-level bring-up, and customer engagement for the AMD Instinct product line. This role serves as a technical bridge between internal teams and OEM partners, influencing AI solution design and leading hands-on debugging efforts. The position requires a dynamic leader who can drive engineering and root cause analysis while mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will contribute to innovative technology infrastructure that enables the digital world.

• Advanced experience in system architecture, hardware/firmware debug, and customer-facing engineering roles, preferably with a focus on HPC or AI/ML.
• Deep understanding of Server/Rack system architecture including x86, GPU, PCIe, and Interconnects.
• Strong proficiency in System Firmware debug, update flows, and deployment strategies.
• Experience with system bring-up and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ITP, and JTAG.
• Knowledge of power delivery, thermal management, and mechanical form factors in datacenter environments.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of leading technical teams through complex problem-solving scenarios.

• Provide system architecture and design support to optimize Rack-Scale AI solution deployments using AMD Instinct GPUs.
• Conduct design reviews for customer platform and rack designs, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
• Deliver comprehensive technical documentation and best practices to facilitate the adoption of AMD AI platforms.
• Drive hands-on debugging and validation efforts at the rack, platform, and component levels.
• Lead customer issue resolution efforts, managing diagnostics and critical escalations.
• Oversee debug efforts for system firmware during initial bring-up and large-scale deployment phases.
• Represent debug progress and technical insights to leadership, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
• Provide detailed technical feedback to influence AMD's software and hardware roadmaps.
• Drive future product architecture decisions based on insights gained from customer engagements.
• Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders to foster a culture of technical excellence.
