Job description
As a Software Engineer II on the Microsoft Turing team, you will contribute to the development of Microsoft 365 Copilot, an AI assistant that enhances enterprise productivity. You will work with top scientists and engineers to design and build scalable platforms that support advanced AI capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to impact the full lifecycle of product development, from infrastructure to user-facing features. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years industry experience with one or more of the following: Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Systems, Information Retrieval and/or Data Mining.
- Experience in software engineering fundamentals, including coding, problem solving and data analysis skills.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with applied scientists and engineers on designing and building backend platform capabilities and core Copilot scenarios.
- Design and deliver scalable, high-performance features that power next-generation AI experiences.
- Define architecture and implementation plans, ensure robustness and solid test coverage, and improve processes to contribute to best practices.
