Job description

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will join the Latham, New York team at Jacobs, contributing to projects in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced research facilities. This role involves designing and optimizing control systems while collaborating with architects, engineers, and designers. The engineer will ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards, while also gaining hands-on experience and mentorship. The position emphasizes curiosity, strong organizational skills, and effective collaboration.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of work experience designing Instrumentation and Control Systems
  • Working knowledge of PLC, PAC, DDC, and DCS systems
  • Ability to work onsite in Latham, NY
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) is ideal

Responsibilities

  • Develop P&IDs and size valves for control systems
  • Specify instrumentation and design control panels
  • Document and model design information while ensuring compliance with standards
