Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Systems Performance Engineer to develop next-generation profiling infrastructure as EDA workloads shift to GPU-accelerated engines. This role focuses on optimizing the interaction between design graphs in system memory and high-throughput GPU kernels. The engineer will work in a diverse and innovative environment, contributing to the future of computing. Candidates will leverage their expertise in performance analysis and profiling tools to drive impactful engineering solutions.
Requirements
- A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with more than 8 years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in systems-level performance analysis.
- A grasp of the CUDA programming model and experience with GPU profiling tools like NVIDIA Nsight Systems/Compute.
- Extensive knowledge of profiling tools such as perf, eBPF, VTune, or Valgrind.
- Experience with distributed compute environments such as Slurm, LSF, or Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain custom profiling frameworks for CPU and GPU environments.
- Conduct deep-dive benchmarking of EDA applications to analyze memory access patterns and cache hit rates.
- Use GPU profilers to identify inefficiencies such as warp divergence and PCIe bottlenecks.
- Develop tools to monitor high-watermark memory usage in multi-terabyte EDA builds.
- Create predictive models to guide hardware procurement and cloud instance selection.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
