Job description
The role involves designing and developing applications that handle petabytes of data and millions of transactions per hour within Apple's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization. The candidate will work in the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team, which is responsible for maintaining secure and efficient operations across Apple's global platforms. The ideal candidate will focus on developing highly scalable distributed platforms and ensuring the performance and security of cloud-based systems. This position requires a strong background in software development and experience with various technologies and architectures.
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.
- 5+ years of proven experience developing software in a professional capacity.
- 2+ years of proven experience with Java, including proficiency in concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in OOP principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience designing, implementing, and shipping high-scale, high-performance, highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-based distributed systems.
- Experience with message-driven and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with caching strategies and in-memory data technologies.
- Experience using relational and NoSQL databases.
- Track record of leading software projects within a team as a tech lead.
- Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI coding tools.
- Experience with search and indexing technologies.
- Experience with data lake and lakehouse architectures.
- Experience in API design and implementation.
