This role involves defining the electrical architecture and transforming user experience challenges into innovative hardware solutions. The position requires collaboration with mechanical and firmware engineers to optimize hardware designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in mass production.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience in hardware system design or electrical architecture.
- Strong EE fundamentals with a deep understanding of system architecture and design tradeoffs.
- Experience in schematic capture and component selection across diverse domains.
- Deep knowledge of low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces.
- Experience with highly constrained multilayer PCBs and rigid-flex designs.
- Hands-on proficiency with advanced lab tools for validation and protocol decode.
- Proven track record of taking complex systems from concept to mass production.
- Sensing expertise in high-precision AFE design for weak signals.
- Experience in haptics and actuation circuitry design.
- Knowledge of power architecture for sensitive analog circuits.
- Familiarity with mechanical resonance and damping requirements.
- Ability to resolve signal/power integrity and ESD/EMI challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical architecture for next-generation input technologies.
- Propose innovative architectural concepts based on design goals.
- Drive new technology investigations in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Continuously iterate and co-design hardware with mechanical and firmware engineers.
- Define the system architecture beyond just circuit design.
- Collaborate tightly with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
