Job description

The Senior Staff Software Engineer for Video Playback at YouTube will lead the team in enhancing the video playback experience across various platforms and formats. This role focuses on advancing the player stack, utilizing on-device hardware for innovative media capabilities, and ensuring high performance for established and emerging video formats. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and industry partners to drive media innovation and explore new technologies. This position is critical to delivering engaging user experiences and managing project priorities effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in software engineering.
  • 3 years of experience in mobile engineering or mobile media experience.
