Job description
As a Senior High-Speed I/O Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of metrology and test instrumentation systems for advanced hardware. Your work will span the entire product lifecycle, ensuring the quality and reliability of Apple's products. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to define test strategies and improve workflows through automation and AI-assisted analytics. This role requires strong technical expertise in high-speed electrical systems and effective cross-functional leadership.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong software development background, including C, Objective-C, and/or Lua-based library, API, or framework development
- Solid command of hardware fundamentals including architecture, block diagrams, schematics, and debug interfaces
- Experience with high-speed interconnects and signal integrity such as USB, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, HDMI, and PCIe
- MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with test methodology, statistical analysis, and Gauge R&R (GRR)
- Consumer electronics manufacturing experience is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy automated instrumentation systems for validating electrical function and performance of high-speed I/O technologies
- Partner with System EE, Signal Integrity, Firmware, Software, Silicon Engineering, and Operations to define test strategies
- Drive instrumentation architecture and analyze complex system behavior
- Improve engineering workflows through automation and AI-assisted analytics
- Design, bring up, debug, and automate electrical systems
