The Amazon Financials Foundation Services (AFFS) team is seeking customer-obsessed server-side software engineers to work on large-scale, highly distributed systems. This role involves building and optimizing services that support Amazon's financial reporting and handle high volumes of transactions. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design
• Navigate ambiguity and make data-driven decisions while considering short-term and long-term trade-offs
• Develop, test, optimize, and scale features on highly available services
• Dive into architecture, code, and metrics to drive operational excellence
