The role is for a Software Development Engineer at AWS AI, focusing on building a next-generation AI compute platform optimized for large language models and distributed training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering large-scale software systems and will work closely with ML scientists and customers to influence strategy and define the team's roadmap. • 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Solid experience in multi-threaded asynchronous C++/Go development
• Prior experience in resource orchestrators with Kubernetes and high performance computing

• Develop innovative solutions for supporting Large Language Model training in a cluster of nodes
• Develop and maintain a performant, resilient and fully-managed service built to train large-scale foundation models
• Optimize distributed training by profiling, identifying bottlenecks and addressing them
• Serve as a key technical resource in the full development cycle, from conception to delivery and maintenance
• Own delivery of entire pieces of the system and serve as technical lead on complex projects
• Hire and mentor junior development engineers
