Job description
This role is for a senior technical leader focused on bridging the gap between physical robots and simulation. The individual will be responsible for analyzing discrepancies between simulated and real robot behaviors and developing systems to measure and model these differences. This hands-on position emphasizes technical leadership without formal management responsibilities, requiring the candidate to influence and guide multi-functional teams. The goal is to enhance robot performance for partners and the robotics developer community.
Requirements
- 12+ years of relevant experience in a technical field.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with end-to-end ownership of a hard-tech system in robotics or a comparable field.
- Expertise in C++ and Python software engineering with a strong foundation in dynamics, controls, and numerical methods.
Responsibilities
- Own the sim-to-real and real-to-sim functions, including experiment design and data capture.
- Build production-quality software for measurement, modeling, and simulation.
- Establish metrics and experiments to identify causes of simulation errors.
- Transform evidence from partner robots into reusable workflows for NVIDIA's platforms.
- Lead contributors across disciplines through technical influence and accountability.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
