Job description
Apple is seeking an experienced and highly technical Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to join the team focused on the product definition, system engineering, and integration of the Apple Vision Pro. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams to develop optimized hardware products while ensuring a strong product and customer focus. The EPM will drive the cross-functional development of requirements and validation plans, addressing architectural gaps and facilitating efficient problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer electronics and project management.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience in consumer electronics.
- 5+ years of project management experience managing cross-functional teams across various program stages.
- Understanding of consumer electronics system architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to work through system-level development tradeoffs.
- Strong technical background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering.
- Proactive and highly self-motivated with good critical thinking capabilities and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support development builds.
- Experience with camera systems, display and optics technologies, and/or wearable consumer electronics.
Responsibilities
- Drive the cross-functional development of requirements and validation plans at product, system, and module levels.
- Identify critical questions and organize teams to find efficient solutions.
- Communicate the impacts of technical decisions on customer experience clearly and concisely.
- Drive resolution to architectural and integration gaps to inform subsequent engineering builds.
- Establish a daily build plan and provide clear direction to vendors and contract manufacturing partners.
