The ML Platform Infrastructure Engineer role at Apple Ads focuses on building and evolving the next generation of machine learning platforms. This position is part of the Site Reliability Engineering team, which ensures the reliability, performance, and availability of ML platforms and services. The engineer will work closely with Ads engineering, data science, and ML platform teams to automate and enhance infrastructure operations. The primary goal is to improve platform resilience and enable faster product delivery.

• 3+ years of experience in internet-facing backend production systems, SRE or ML Operations focused roles on large scale distributed cloud infrastructure.
• Proven expertise with AWS-managed infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ML lifecycle and associated technologies such as NVIDIA Triton, AnyScale Ray, and Apache Airflow.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Python, Java, Rust, Go or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with Linux systems and deep knowledge of its internals.
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Strong foundation in SRE concepts including monitoring, alerting, observability, incident response, and root cause analysis.

• Own the health, performance, and scalability of large scale infrastructure powering ML training, inference, and serving workloads.
• Build automation that eliminates manual processes and improves platform resilience.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters at scale in production environments.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems under real-world load.
• Build tools or services that automate platform operations and reduce toil.
