The Staff Site Reliability Engineer for AQI Data SRE at Google is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of critical data processing systems that support Google Ads. This role combines software and systems engineering to manage large-scale, fault-tolerant systems while collaborating with development teams to co-build infrastructure. The position requires expertise in coding, algorithms, and large-scale system design, with a focus on optimizing existing systems and automating processes. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience leading projects.
• 3 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Experience with large-scale data processing.

• Define the technical goal, architectural roadmap, and reliability strategy for AQI Data SRE across the SAGE/SPARK production stack.
• Partner with development leadership to lead system design reviews and ensure production readiness for flagship Ads launches.
• Architect and lead the implementation of critical infrastructure projects, including data-pipeline resilience and automated rollback platforms.
• Mentor and grow engineers on the team, promoting software engineering excellence and SRE best practices.
• Lead the response to complex production incidents and drive high-impact post-incident architectural improvements.
