The Video Applications team at Apple is seeking a Software Developer in Test with expertise in macOS/iOS applications, video codecs, and performance testing. This role focuses on developing automated testing solutions and ensuring software quality for innovative tools aimed at creative professionals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software testing and a strong background in automation and performance testing methodologies. You will collaborate with a team of quality engineers to enhance the performance and reliability of applications.

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, test automation, and/or tools and automation development.
• Experience in Python and shell scripting.
• Understanding of software and hardware performance testing methodologies and strategies.
• Software engineering skills and knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with performance testing tools for native applications.
• Hands-on experience with native application automation frameworks.
• Experience in Kubernetes and related containerization technologies.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.

• Define and develop performance testing test cases, including metrics and benchmarks.
• Contribute to delivering a scalable performance and automation infrastructure.
• Plan, design, write, maintain, and execute test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python.
• Drive quality and process improvements to ensure features are ready for release.
• Report bugs with effective isolation and regression techniques.
• Manage priorities and communicate progress and risks effectively.
• Coordinate multi-functional test efforts with team members.
• Utilize AI tools to automate workflows and enhance efficiency.
