Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Staff Bridge Engineer to join their Mobility Business Area team in Lake Charles, LA. This role focuses on delivering innovative solutions in the design, delivery, and management of critical structural resources for various clients. The engineer will work closely with design and contractor teams on a major design-build infrastructure project. The position requires strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively interface with multiple stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of professional work experience in transportation infrastructure
- Experience in the design of concrete and steel bridge structures
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- EI/EIT Certification
- Experience with AASHTO design codes
- Proficiency with relevant bridge design software including Bentley/LEAP/Open Bridge Designer, MathCAD, Microsoft Office products, and MicroStation
- Effective problem solving skills
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions
- Ability to work with little direct oversight
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Co-locate at the project office with frequent visits to the construction site
- Participate in project progress meetings
- Collaborate with other design disciplines
- Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve RFI’s and NCR’s
- Prepare reports for senior engineer review
- Track and meet schedule requirements for deliverables
