The Principal Software Engineer will join the Agent 365 Foundation team at Microsoft, focusing on the compute platform for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. This role involves setting the technical direction and making architectural decisions for container orchestration and security layers. The engineer will lead multi-team efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency in mission-critical business applications. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Deep expertise with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Expertise with Microsoft stack technologies, particularly C#, .NET, and core Azure platform services.

• Set technical direction and own the architecture for platform services and APIs that provision, scale, and secure containerized compute.
• Drive multi-team, multi-quarter platform investments from ambiguous problem statements through design, rollout, and live-site operation.
• Lead the networking, identity, and isolation strategy of the platform, ensuring secure design principles and validation of security invariants.
• Proactively lead verification of assumptions while developing code and resolve issues with minimal iterations.
• Lead incident retrospectives to identify root causes and implement repair actions to prevent recurrence.
• Drive capacity planning and infrastructure cost efficiency using telemetry and usage data.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and raise design and code quality through reviews.
