Job description

The Manager, Engineering Operations at GEICO will lead the Technical Support team that services over 35,000 associates across the United States. This role focuses on driving efficiency and innovation through an engineering mindset centered on self-service and automation. The manager will mentor and develop a high-performing team while ensuring exceptional service delivery and adherence to operational standards. The position also involves overseeing daily operations, managing IT asset processes, and promoting the adoption of AI technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or comparable experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on work experience in supporting and leading teams in a technical environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a focus on driving efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Solid understanding of dashboard and reporting tools, with the ability to visualize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to operate in high pressure situations handling multiple competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality technical support to associates.
  • Manage work schedules, monitor overtime, and approve timesheets.
  • Champion automation and self-service tools to empower teams and end users.
  • Oversee daily operations for the teams to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to SLAs.
