This role involves influencing fire protection design, construction, operations, and maintenance for AWS's global data centers. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure safety and security standards are met while providing efficient capacity for customers. The position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to define and document fire protection features. You will also contribute to the continual improvement of fire protection design standards.

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Experience applying local codes, NFPA standards, and ICC requirements
• Licensed Fire Protection Engineer
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications

• Perform and oversee project-related work, including water supply analysis and design for fire water service to buildings
• Coordinate with utilities and fire officials to establish basic site infrastructure requirements
• Prepare prescriptive designs for building fire suppression, alarm, and detection systems
• Review all design disciplines to ensure compliance with fire protection requirements
• Provide high quality fire protection engineering advice on various global projects
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams
• Meet with Authorities Having Jurisdiction to ensure approval of fire protection features
