Job description
The Manufacturing Engineer – Senior will join the Cummins team in Columbus, IN, focusing on end-to-end manufacturing process development. This role emphasizes optimizing equipment performance and driving efficient production processes while ensuring safety and quality standards. The engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives and establish best practices to enhance operational excellence. Collaboration with stakeholders and technical leadership are key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- A college, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development for assigned projects.
- Apply advanced manufacturing principles to optimize equipment performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Cummins standards and tools.
- Establish and standardize manufacturing methods and best practices.
- Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive project outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional and external resources to execute project deliverables.
- Serve as a technical leader by sharing expertise and coaching stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
