Job description
The JTC Test Engineer role involves planning, coordinating, and executing engine and vehicle component testing programs to support heavy-duty product development and validation. The engineer will oversee all phases of testing, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and delivering high-quality test data. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex issues. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving safe and efficient testing operations.
Requirements
- A working knowledge of diesel engine performance fundamentals and engine systems.
- Hands-on experience with engine testing, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with Cyflex and Calterm is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical judgment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans supporting heavy-duty product development and validation programs.
- Coordinate hardware procurement, instrumentation requirements, and test article builds.
- Ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with established engineering procedures and safety requirements.
- Monitor test progress, validate data quality, and resolve technical issues.
- Analyze test data and prepare CTRs, summaries, and technical recommendations.
- Lead and document post-test activities, including teardown inspections and review meetings.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair issues related to engine systems and test cell equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate test documentation and communicate project status to stakeholders.
