The Senior Software Engineer role is part of the 'Windows in the Cloud' engineering team, focusing on developing client applications for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop. This position aims to enhance user experiences by integrating AI and cloud capabilities into the Windows App. The team operates in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, emphasizing innovation and collaboration. The engineer will play a crucial role in shaping the future of personal computing by creating device-agnostic, cloud-first solutions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, or C# OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, or C# OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Expertise in Windows platform development, including COM, WinRT, and core Windows OS APIs.
• Expertise in identity and authentication for client applications like Microsoft Entra ID, MSAL, and Web Account Manager (WAM).
• Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and remote desktop protocols is a plus.

• Design and ship new Windows App and Windows 365 Cloud PC features with a focus on seamless integration with OS platform capabilities.
• Build client experiences that enhance the Cloud PC for AI agents, including intelligent connection and troubleshooting experiences.
• Provide architectural leadership for secure, distributed, scalable, and resilient client applications and services.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering and help the team adopt modern AI developer tools while upholding secure engineering practices.
• Drive reliability through telemetry-driven development and rapid incident response.
• Collaborate with partner teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
• Mentor engineers across the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
