The Security Engineer I role within the AWS Security Incident Response team focuses on investigating suspicious activities and driving security response efforts to protect AWS customers. The team operates 24/7, utilizing AI-augmented tools and forensic capabilities to enhance security measures. This position involves collaborating with fellow engineers and service teams to document analyses and coordinate remediation efforts. Candidates will contribute to security automation and improve triage capabilities while ensuring effective communication of technical findings.

• 2+ years of web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing.
• Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
• Familiarity with how AI/ML systems work, including concepts like confidence scoring and training data.

• Respond to threat findings indicating unauthorized activity and perform triage.
• Identify, evaluate, and communicate security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to security automation, scripting, and tooling efforts.
• Track and report on the effectiveness of AWS detective controls.
• Develop and refine runbooks, processes, and policies to strengthen security response.
