Job description
Apple is seeking a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) panel process engineer to join their TFT process team, which is dedicated to delivering advanced TFT panel technologies for iPad and Mac displays. The role involves overseeing the unit process and integration of TFT architecture from research and development to mass production. The engineer will utilize AI-assisted simulations and characterizations to enhance device performance and conduct failure analysis. Collaboration with various disciplines within Apple is essential to navigate solutions and improve overall display manufacturing.
Requirements
- Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics.
- M.S degree in the mentioned disciplines plus 4 years of TFT industry experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong device physics background on various TFT technologies including a-Si, oxide, and LTPS.
- Hands-on, in-depth technical knowledge and proven track record on development of various TFT technologies.
- TFT industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the unit process and integration of TFT architecture from research to mass production.
- Conduct AI-driven automated simulations and mechanical analysis for pixel architecture development.
- Construct realistic virtual stack-ups through process simulation for faster DFMEA/PFMEA.
- Perform AI-incorporated failure analysis and characterization to identify root causes.
- Deploy AI-enhanced compact models to capture complex TFT behaviors and lifetime degradation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Display Optics, Touch, Display EE, and Mechanical Engineering.
- Work with various display manufacturers from development to mass production stage.
- Conduct fundamental studies to seek future candidates of TFT technologies.
