The AWS Optics Configurations Support Engineer provides technical support and security response for AWS systems and data centers. This role requires knowledge of security principles and the ability to troubleshoot security issues across both physical and logical environments. The team operates 24/7, necessitating flexibility in work hours, including nights and weekends. Candidates should be proactive and possess strong communication skills to effectively manage security incidents and collaborate with various stakeholders.

• 2+ years of technical support experience
• Experience scripting in modern programming languages
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
• Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software RAID
• Experience with REST web services, XML, and JSON

• Employ security strategies and procedures in accordance with service level agreements and policies.
• Manage communications, security response, and escalations for operational needs.
• Drive security findings, research mitigations, and analyze potential security vulnerabilities.
• Manage high security events and communicate risks to AWS stakeholders.
• Create innovative solutions to security issues using technology or process improvements.
• Produce progress reports and briefs regarding security concerns and operational opportunities.
• Consult with other Amazon security and service teams on AWS security posture.
• Interface with technical teams and stakeholders to translate security mitigation plans into actionable items.
• Provide technical support to customers through various communication channels.
