The Principal-level engineer will be responsible for managing a critical segment of Apple's hyperscale cloud network, ensuring its health, growth, and future. This role requires deep technical expertise in network engineering, distributed systems, and compute infrastructure. The engineer will take ownership of production availability and incident response for business-critical infrastructure. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to drive technical initiatives that align with business goals.

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with substantial experience operating large-scale networks in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated experience owning production availability and driving incident response for business-critical infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of core networking concepts such as BGP, DNS, load balancing, VPCs, and SDN.
• Experience leading cross-functional or cross-team technical projects from design through execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate risk, reliability trade-offs, and operational priorities.
• Experience operating at architect level with a track record of technical leadership beyond your immediate team.
• Background spanning both network and compute infrastructure domains.
• Experience building and tracking SLOs/error budgets and driving org-wide reliability programs.
• History of pitching new technical initiatives and securing organizational investment or buy-in.
