Job description
The Electrical Design Engineer, Platforms role at Google involves developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in high-speed PCB hardware design, schematic capture, and layout oversight.
- Experience with EDA design tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium, or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-complexity Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) characterization boards and lab test rigs.
- Own end-to-end board hardware development, including component selection and layout routing constraints.
- Work closely with Signal Integrity and Power Integrity teams to optimize high-frequency trace routing.
- Manage board fabrication and assembly with manufacturing partners to ensure on-time delivery.
- Perform initial hardware bring-up and fixture characterization in the lab using VNAs and TDRs.
