The Electronic Systems Controls Technical Specialist will join the Controls Performance and Features team within the Air Handling Applied Controls Software and Electronics Engineering organization in Columbus, IN. This role focuses on developing high-performance control systems for engines and powertrains, translating customer requirements into technical solutions, and enhancing diagnostic capabilities. The specialist will also drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration of controls solutions. A strong emphasis will be placed on applying data-driven problem-solving methods and maintaining technical documentation.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Controls Engineering is required.
• Experience with test cell, vehicle, and bench testing, as well as Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing, is required.
• Knowledge of basic machine learning models and data analysis techniques is required.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and their operation is required.
• Experience with GT-POWER engine simulations is preferred.
