Job description
The Senior Service Engineer role at Microsoft Azure Storage involves leading the qualification strategy and performance validation for new hardware and platform technologies. Requirements
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end qualification and production readiness validation for new Azure Storage hardware SKUs and platforms.
- Drive qualification strategy, test planning, execution, and sign-off recommendations for Azure Storage deployments.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for qualification failures and performance regressions.
- Own complex investigations across software, hardware, firmware, and platform stacks to resolve qualification blockers.
- Analyze large-scale telemetry and benchmark data to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities.
- Perform root cause analysis for issues discovered during qualification and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with various engineering teams to resolve critical qualification and performance issues.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on qualification methodologies and performance analysis.
