Job description

The Structural Engineer SME - AI Data Centers role at Jacobs involves leading structural engineering efforts for data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation, and S3D
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software such as RISA, RamSS, or STAAD
  • Ability to travel to various client sites, approximately 10% to 40% travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering efforts across a portfolio of data center projects.
  • Provide quality reviews of complex projects and ensure robust, code-compliant design solutions.
  • Develop and validate advanced structural computer models and establish modeling standards.
  • Oversee critical calculations for member design and foundations, directing material take-offs.
  • Mentor structural leads and support projects by communicating with clients and upper management.
