The Confluent - Cloud Subject Matter Expert at IBM is responsible for enhancing client experiences and resolving complex issues related to the Kafka and Confluent Cloud platform. This role involves providing technical leadership and serving as the primary authority for clients, ensuring optimal data streaming architectures and best practices are implemented. The position requires collaboration with various teams to deliver effective solutions and promote client self-sufficiency. The expert will also guide security and compliance measures while supporting incident response and operational excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Proficiency with Kafka and Confluent Cloud in enterprise production environments is preferred.
• Experience in regulated or highly controlled environments is preferred.

• Serve as the primary technical authority and escalation point for the customer's Kafka and Confluent Cloud platform.
• Advise on the optimization of data streaming architectures and adoption of Confluent functionality.
• Design and review enterprise-grade event-driven architectures, including topic design and integration patterns.
• Proactively identify and resolve operational issues to ensure business continuity.
• Deliver hands-on architecture reviews and technical workshops to promote customer self-sufficiency.
