Job description
The Structural Engineering Intern will join the Federal Buildings team at Jacobs, working in either Knoxville, TN or Orlando, FL. This role focuses on supporting critical projects that involve designing new multi-building complexes and renovating historic structures. Interns will collaborate closely with professional engineers and designers, gaining hands-on experience in structural analysis and design. The position emphasizes continuous learning and inclusion within a dynamic industry environment.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship is required, and candidates with CPT work authorization cannot be considered.
- Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
- Must live within a commutable distance from Jacobs offices in Orlando, FL or Knoxville, TN.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for various projects.
- Support project coordination and data collection efforts.
- Collaborate with Structural Leads, Project Managers, and Professional Engineers across different disciplines.
- Perform increasingly complex calculations and analysis as structural designs are developed.
