Job description
The Entry Level Structural Engineer position at Jacobs involves joining the Federal Buildings team in Atlanta, GA, Orlando, FL, or Knoxville, TN. This role focuses on structural design for federal projects and includes working on multi-building complexes and historic renovations. The engineer will perform calculations and analyses while collaborating with designers and project managers. Mentorship from experienced engineers will support the candidate's growth in structural engineering fundamentals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- Ideally, a Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
- Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is preferred
- Familiarity with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
Responsibilities
- Perform increasingly complex calculations and analyses as structural designs are developed
- Communicate structural requirements effectively with designers and project managers
- Assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for various projects
- Manage workload and meet commitments related to structural scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Seek guidance from peers and seniors when questions arise
