Job description

As a Structural Engineering Professional at Jacobs, you will play a key role in the design team, focusing on structural analysis and design for advanced manufacturing projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (PE/PEng)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
  • Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
  • Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation and adaptation of engineering techniques.
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design, including wind and seismic provisions.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
  • Take responsibility for managing workload and commitments.
  • Clearly define your own scope and develop the ability to forecast the level of effort needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers and less experienced engineers.
