The Structural Engineering Intern position at Jacobs in Chicago offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative engineering projects for both private and public sector clients. Interns will engage in design, analysis, and maintenance of various structural systems, including bridges and infrastructure projects. Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering
- At least a rising Junior in their academic program
- Knowledge of bridge design practices through work experience, internships, or college coursework
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Office Suite
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems for bridges and other infrastructure projects
- Perform evaluations of structures with varying degrees of complexity
- Prepare plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates under the supervision of experienced engineers
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create structural models
- Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
