Job description
The Structural Engineer will join the Cities and Places buildings team in Orlando, FL, working alongside experienced architects and engineers. This role focuses on the design and analysis of structural systems for various building types, including government, commercial, and educational projects. The engineer will independently execute tasks while also mentoring junior staff and managing project delivery aspects. The position emphasizes delivering high-quality, code-compliant designs within budget and schedule constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional engineering license in the US
- 7+ years of relevant structural design experience in vertical building structures, including steel, concrete, and masonry
- Proficiency with structural design and analysis software such as ETABS/SAP2000, RISA, and RAM Suite
- Proficiency with Revit and BIM coordination
- Strong knowledge of US building codes and standards, including IBC, FBC, and ASCE
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, and masonry building systems
- Prepare calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications for a variety of projects
- Support coordination with architects and other engineering disciplines
- Contribute to meeting project scope, schedule, and quality objectives
- Participate in project meetings and assist with construction administration
- Oversee and mentor junior engineering staff
