The role is for a Senior Software Development Engineer in the AWS Infrastructure Services team, focusing on building systems that manage the lifecycle of AWS global infrastructure. The team is responsible for ensuring that AWS data centers operate efficiently and meet customer demand. This position involves collaborating with a diverse group of engineers and specialists to deliver high standards of safety and security. The engineer will work on complex distributed systems and contribute to the technical vision and strategy of the team.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers
• Experience operating highly available, distributed systems or in software development
• Experience working with fast-moving, high-performance teams

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems for AWS infrastructure fulfillment planning and execution.
• Architect solutions that detect and explain deviations between build plans and execution outcomes.
• Drive technical vision and strategy for plan-to-execution convergence.
• Write high-quality, modular, testable code and set standards for engineering excellence.
