Job description
The Program Manager for Amazon Web Services' Infrastructure Operations team will play a critical role in managing data center operations, ensuring reliability and performance while optimizing efficiency. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can adapt strategies in response to dynamic business needs and interface with various teams across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project engineering and will be responsible for driving innovative solutions to operational challenges. This role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse team and contribute to the continuous improvement of AWS global infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, program manager, construction management or related roles.
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations, or 5+ years of facilities management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience managing large, cross-functional projects exceeding $3 million in scope.
- Experience performing vendor management for multiple accounts exceeding $1 million in annual spend.
Responsibilities
- Manage requirements, budget, design, and implementation of assigned projects.
- Assess annual maintenance program requirements and build a rolling 18 month project forecast.
- Facilitate creation of SOWs with partner teams to be included in contract documents.
- Evaluate performance and work product of on-site partners and escalate issues through Amazon leadership.
- Identify and communicate needs for design improvements.
- Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with operational teams and partners.
- Lead and coordinate design and execution efforts between internal teams and outside partners.
- Evaluate project risks and issues and propose actionable resolutions.
- Build strong working relationships with data center leadership teams across multiple sites.
- Proactively and continually improve knowledge about data center relevant technologies.
